A miniature complex of two apartments and two studios, quite aptly named Nama -- a word deriving from classical Greek meaning "spring water"/ "life giving force" -- thanks to its ideal location on a ridge overlooking the Aegean Sea and the two streams cascading from Kissos down the Mouresi valley. Nama Apts & Studios is situated in Agios Dimitrios, a village of northeastern Pelion at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level. From its position right off the main square, the accommodation commands stunning views of the Aegean Sea and Mount Athos in its eastern horizon, and a dramatic panorama of Mount Pelion's most beautiful ravine at the bottom of which lies a hidden valley of exquisite beauty.

What's more, the guests have easy access to the neighbouring resorts. For example, a 10-minute drive will take one to Kissos, a most beautiful village at an elevation of 600 meters; a 15-minute drive in the opposite direction will lead to the nearby beaches of Agios Ioannis, Plaka and Papa Nero; the winter sports lover will need only a 30-minute drive to get to Hania, Pelion's well-frequented skiing resort. Last but not least, the physically fit or those who want to build up stamina can explore the various paths and mule-tracks some of which will inevitably lead to the lovely, cosmopolitan beach at Agios Ioannis after a 45-minute walk.

There is a mini-market close by and two restaurants within walking distance. Approximately 15 minutes' walk from the accommodation there is the little charming square of Xirovrisi under the protective embrace of five plane trees from which the taverna situated right in the square has taken its name: "Pente Platania" [Five Plane Trees], which is open from June to early September. In our opinion, "Pente Platania" is one of the best eating places as both the natural decor and the general atmosphere along with the superbly grilled delicacies and the fresh salads it serves can gratify not only the palate but also the soul.

THE APARTMENTS: Walnut or Laura, sleeping up to 4 persons. They have a balcony looking on to the garden with great sea and mountain views. Each accommodation consists of a separate small bedroom with two single beds -- ideal for two children-- a kitchenette, fridge, electric rings [no oven] and a lounge-cum-sleeping area where there is a double bed, table and TV. Each apartment has a shower room-cum-W.C., fireplace plus central heating with individual thermostat control.

THE STUDIOS: Apricot or Cherry. The accommodations open to a ground floor veranda in the garden from which one can have a choice of sea or mountain view. They are quite spacious studios, able to comfortably accommodate a couple with one child, as they are equipped with a double bed, a single bed and a folding sofa, a kitchenette, small oven with electric rings, fridge, table and TV. Each studio has a shower room-cum-W.C., fireplace plus central heating with individual thermostat control.

It is important to note that the building has been constructed in such a way that it can be turned into two functional maisonettes as Walnut and Apricot, and Laura and Cherry are interconnected with an internal marble staircase and thus are able to accommodate two families or a large party of friends that wish to spend their vacation in one common space.

Unless one is a dedicated walker, car hire is recommended.

Cleaning and linen change twice a week.
